ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing is an activated charcoal dressing with silver, enclosed in a non-adherent nylon sleeve. Traps odour while providing an effective barrier to bacterial penetration, which may help reduce infection.
By eliminating offensive odors, ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing helps improve the patient’s quality of life.
ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing provides an effective barrier to bacterial penetration and for adsorbing offending odour resulting from wounds; the binding properties of the dressing trap bacteria, bacterial toxins and odour.
ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing is suitable as the first therapeutic step in the management of all chronic wounds. It is indicated for fungating carcinomas, ulcerative, traumatic and surgical wounds where bacterial contamination, infection or odour occurs.
ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing is suitable for use under compression bandaging.
Contraindications
ACTISORB™ Silver 220 Dressing should not be used on third-degree burns.
Warnings
Should not be used on patients with a known sensitivity to silver.
For external use only.
Precautions
This product should not be cut, otherwise particles of activated charcoal may get into the wound and cause discoloration.
The dressing performance may be impaired by excess use of petrolatum based ointments.
