V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy with ULTA™ 4 Therapy Unit
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy combines the benefits of V.A.C.® Therapy with automated topical wound solution distribution and removal.
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy can help:
- Cleanse with the instillation of topical wound cleansers
- Treat with the instillation of topical antimicrobial and antiseptic wound solutions
- Heal the wound and prepare for closure
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy consists of NPWT coupled with automated, controlled delivery to and removal of topical wound treatment solutions from the wound bed.
The soak time and automated volumetric delivery differentiate V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy from other commercially available instillation systems that either provide instillation solutions under continuous flow (without a soak time) or use gravity to instill solution into the wound.
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy is also unique in that it uses dressings specifically designed for instillation therapy with NPWT. The dressings are less hydrophobic than the current V.A.C.® Therapy Dressings and provide improved fluid distribution within, and removal from, the wound bed.
The V.A.C.ULTA™ 4 Therapy System provides clinicians with innovative, customizable
therapy by allowing the selection of V.A.C.® Therapy, V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy,
PREVENA™ Therapy or ABTHERA™ Therapy
With V.A.C.® Therapy, customers can select continuous or intermittent (DYNAMIC PRESSURE CONTROL™ Therapy Mode) application of negative pressure.
With V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy, the user can select the appropriate topical wound solution needed for each wound to be treated (such as normal saline or wound irrigation solutions and cleansers) as well as adjust the instillation fill volume and soak time.
Additionally, the controlled instillation of topical anesthetic solutions may provide patient comfort during therapy and at dressing changes. With the use of patented SENSAT.R.A.C.™ Technology, V.A.C.® Therapy Systems are designed to accurately deliver the selected negative pressure at the wound site for optimal healing. There are currently three dressing options to choose from for use with V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy. Each dressing allows clinicians to customize therapy based on the goal of therapy.

The VAC ULTA™ is usually only used in the hospital and is usually for larger wounds with a lot of wound fluid.
Specific for the V.A.C. ULTA™ is that – in addition to V.A.C.® Therapy – also V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy can be applied.
V.A.C. VERAFLO™ Therapy is the application of a liquid to the wound in automatically set periods to further cleanse and heal it. The administration of the fluid is alternated with a period of only V.A.C.® Therapy (negative pressure therapy).
Research has shown that in this way new tissue is formed more quickly in the wound, so that it can be closed more quickly.
